Police: Man Bought Nearly $1,700 in Goods with Closed Checking Account in Milford

A Bridgeport man was arrested on an active arrest warrant on Monday.

The arrest stems from a theft reported at Costco in November 2007 where Jose Reyes, 46, is accused of purchasing merchandise worth $1,689.98 with checks from a closed checking account.

Reyes was charged with three counts of issuing a bad check, two counts of fourth-degree larceny and sixth-degree larceny.

Reyes was given a court date of Feb. 10.
