The man had an outburst in court during the sentencing Thursday and had to be restrained, according to a report.

MILFORD, CT — A man who admitted to killing his ex-girlfriend with an axe in 2022 will serve 40 years in prison, WTNH News-8 reported.

Ewen DeWitt, 44, of Roxbury, had to be restrained due to an outburst during the sentencing hearing in Milford Superior Court on Thursday, according to WTNH News-8.

DeWitt agreed to a plea deal in March in which he pleaded guilty to murder and risk of injury to a child in the death of Julie Minogue, 40, a Milford mom of three.
