Snow Forecast Changes For Southern Connecticut: Here's What To Know
There have been some changes to the snow forecast for southern Connecticut. Here are the new details.
The snow forecast for Sunday has changed slightly, with less snow accumulation now forecast across southern Connecticut, especially inland sections, according to local meteorologists.
The areas that might see an inch of snow are along the immediate coast. The farther you are away from the coast, the less snow you will receive.
"We continue to monitor the track of a coastal storm... with model trends indicating its center passes offshore from us here in Southern New England. However, the chance we get grazed by the northern edge of the storm still exists, though data has been backing off on amounts and coverage. Snow showers are possible tonight into tomorrow morning. Minor accumulations (a coating - 1″) are possible across the SW half of the state, especially favoring the immediate shoreline. As the storm departs, expect increasing sunshine Monday. Otherwise, temperatures Monday peak in the lower half of the 40s!" according to WFSB 3 TV meterologists.

The National Weather Service said for southern Connecticut, "A low pressure system is expected to track a bit farther north and will bring some minor snowfall accumulation to mainly southern portions of the region. However, if the trend farther north continues then snowfall amounts could be more significant."
Maybe we'll begin to see some earnest snow melting this week, especially beginning on Tuesday with high temperatures possibly rising into the upper 40s, WFSB 3 TV meteorologists said. (Read more at WFSB 3 TV).
