Subway Enlists Former Coca-Cola Exec in Re-Branding Effort

The move comes after Subway's former spokesman, Jared Fogle, was sentenced to prison on child pornography charges.

Milford-based sandwich maker Subway has hired Joseph Tripondi, a retired former chief marketing and commercial officer at Coca-Cola, to oversee the company’s re-branding efforts in the wake of the Jared Fogle child pornography scandal.

Tripondi replaces Tony Pace, Subway’s previous chief of marketing who left the company a couple of weeks before former company spokesman Fogle’s house was raided in the investigation, reports the Connecticut Post and Associated Press.

In addition to shedding the company’s tarnished image from the Fogle debacle, the move also comes as Subway continues efforts to make the foods it serves healthier by stopping the use of artificial ingredients.
