Thunderstorms, Record Temps Usher In Crazy Weekend In CT
One might expect to see this forecast for the start of spring in Connecticut but definitely not in January.
CONNECTICUT — It isn't your typical mid-January weekend weather forecast: temperatures in the 60s, thunderstorms and heavy rain. Well, that is our crazy weekend weather. It will be a nice weekend to binge watch your favorite television show or sit on the couch for two days while enjoying the NFL playoffs.
Friday is the calm before the weekend storm. It will be cloudy but the good news is that it will be warm with temps rising into the 50s. Saturday will be cloudy and foggy and the rain moves in Saturday evening and continues on Sunday. Thunderstorms are possible on Sunday morning and temps soar into the 60s.
The National Weather Service says, "A warmer pattern will develop with continued southwest flow into this upcoming weekend. This will also increase the low level moisture so this will also lead to some fog formation both tonight and Saturday night. Forecast highs are more in the lower 50s for today and more in the upper 50s and 60s for this weekend.

"Mainly dry conditions are anticipated with a few rain showers possible mostly to the north and west of New York City going into this weekend. Rain showers become more likely late Saturday night into early Sunday with a possible thunderstorm as well and this is when the cold front will be closer to the region."
It's warmer today, and 'mostly' drier - but stand by for a lot of rain this weekend, even thunder possible Sun AM. Record HIGHS possible in the 60? This January is...weird. See you on the air through 11am on the @fox61news
