Communications 101

Communications from the town are non-existent through Day 6 of Cloudy-gate

DAY 6 of Cloudy-gate and still no word about what the official problem is and when we can expect a solution.  There are posts on Monroe Parents Facebook page about the Monroe Parks and Recreation Board meeting last night.  I wasn’t there, so I cannot swear to the accuracy of this information, but it was pretty apparent to the posters that the 4 out of 5 members of the board didn’t even KNOW that there is a problem with the pool.  What? Really?  If I held important pertinent information from my bosses on the safety and well fare of my customers, I would be fired.

These are the facts that we do know:

1) We are in Day 6 of Cloudy-gate.

2) While the pool opened on time today, the deep end is still closed (Some at the pool are calling it the Abyss).

3) We have received no official word from anyone at the Town of Monroe as to what is the problem. (There are still Facebook posts on the pool site stating it is the sunscreen!!)

4) We have received no official word from anyone at the Town of Monroe as to when the problem will be solved.

5) We kept getting thanked for our patience.  WE HAVE NO MORE PATIENCE…it was exhausted in June and July when we had cloudy water, poop and puke in the pool, the pool and lake closed early or all day on beautiful sunny days….without any talk of refund of fees from the town.

We get that this is “only” a pool problem.  But we have to ask the question, if this were a true town emergency, how slow, incomplete, inconsistent or non-existent would the communications be to the townspeople?  Let’s hope we never have to find out.
