As a personal friend of Thomas Lavone fashion designer of Thomas Lavone Designs who has been featured on the hit tv series "Jerseylicious" I will be attending New York Fashion week on Sunday, September 16 2012. In preperations for this event I have researched all of the fall trends 2012 to make sure I dont end up on the Fashion Police! So today we are going to talk about all of the main colors, items, and patterns you need to add to your wardrobe to be fashion forward this fall season.
Navy Blue/Black
Navy blue and black together in a pattern or paired together as seperates is huge for the fall season. Carolina Herrera started her fall show with a navy blue and sequence striped dress that had the crowd going crazy. Designer Preen paired a navy blue pant with black top for a more casual look. Any way you choose to wear it you should definietly add these colors to your closet.

Burgundy is the New Black
Burgundy is going to be the "it" color this coming season. Designers from Peter Som to DKNY had many peices appearing on their runways. The burgundy peplum dresses seemed to also be the biggest sight to see in most designers collections. This dress can be worn to work or for a night out on the town and is something I am considering for my event. Burgundy was a hit with jackets, capes, dresses, skirts and sweaters. Most outfits were pair with a dark nude heel or black.

Leather
Leather is back ladies and gents. I hope you didnt throw away your old pair of leather pants from the 80s or late 90s when it had once reappeared again. Leather dresses and skirts seem to be the biggest trend as far as how to wear your leather. Also the traditional black is not the only color that leather will be popular in. Burgundy, blue, bronze and gold will also be making a statement. When wearing leather you must only wear one statement piece. If its a dress let it be only that. If you decide to wear a skirt you must pair it with a shirt of a different texture. I will be trying this trend.
Winter White
There is a white you can were past labor day! This white is called "Winter White". Winter white is more of a beige tint of white as opposed to pure white. This color appeared on shows such as Derek Lam, Alexander Wang, and Peter Som. When wearing this color it can be worn as a pant suit, a trench style jacket, or in a swearter form. Dresses were not shown as much as seperates but will also be ok as long as you pair this color with a dark nude or burgundy heel/boot!
Reptile Print
Reptile print is going to make a very slight showcase in this fall season but if you decide to wear this daring trend you will be fashion forward. Christian Siriano from the hit show "Project Runway" used fish scales in a few of his items which worked well when offset by other material that were added to one of his dress designs. One thing about this trend I noticed was that the reptile print itself was always in a black hue usually paired with other blacks or beiges and grays.
Military/Grunge
Military Grunge style is all the rage this season. Victoria Beckham had many structured dresses on her runway in colors from black to blue to gray and even hunter green. Celebrity Miley Cirus has been spotted recently wearing a pair of combat boots which are military inspired and have been seen on the designer Suno's collection. House hold named designer Tommy Hilfiger will be producing Military inspired trenchs for the fall so definietly run out to your nearest mall and buy to add to your collection today.
Jumpsuits
Last but not least Jumpsuits! Jumpsuits in all of your previously dicussed colors and patterns made there way down in many designers collections. One designer you may know rocking this trend is Rachel Zoe. You know her from Bravo TV. These can be worn dressy and can be paired with other fall trends such as leather jackets as long as the jumpsuit itself is not leather!
I hope I have now made you ahead of the game this season and that I will spot you around Monroe with one of these many amazing trends!! Til next time- L&A
