Freedom from Fear
In a civil society, we need to help promote the common good and I believe the Monroe Four Freedoms Project is doing just that...

I lived and worked in Newtown for four years before coming to Monroe, the tragedy in Sandy Hook hit home for me. Every day I drive my kids to and from school, both Fawn Hollow and Jockey Hollow schools and every day I pass Sandy Hook School and am reminded of what they have experienced. I thank God that a Monroe Police Officer is there to greet and protect them and us!
The presence of Monroe Police Officers at our schools has given me freedom from fear. The police are there to serve and protect and their presence reassures me of the safety of my kids.
I am glad that the newest Norman Rockwell painting from the Monroe Four Freedoms Project will be placed in the newly renovated Monroe Police Department. I cannot think of a more appropriate place for the “Freedom from Fear” print than the MPD.

I am also pleased to read that donations beyond the cost of the painting will go towards firearm safety. Lost in all the heated debates in Hartford and Washington, are the little things we can do to help Monroe Police provide firearm safety to this town. The voluntary gun turn in program, gun locks and education are simple and effective ways for Monroe Police to serve and protect its citizens and we can play our part by helping with the funds needed to accomplish these programs.
In a civil society, we need to help promote the common good and I believe the Monroe Four Freedoms Project is doing just that and I invite you to support "Freedom from Fear" (see pdf).
