Fun Days for Playmates is for children entering pre-K through 1st grade and are 100% toilet trained. Playmates will provide fun socialization for children through a variety of learning experiences. We strive to create a happy, positive experience while building self confidence, imagination and independence. Your child will learn and explore in and out of our classroom through structured centers, dramatic play, art, music, guided free play, educational field trips and so much more. Unlike most summer camps, we run a structured program with an educational based curriculum. Each age group will have their own classroom with experienced teachers and qualified camp counselors. Session 1 includes “Mad Scientist-Blast off into Science!” week, “Creative Cooking” week and a trip to Wolfe Park. Session 2 offers “Animal Action” week and “Crazy 4 Art” week. This session will also include a pirate day, complete with a visit from Billy Bones Pirate School! Session 3 consists of “Multi-Cultural Week” with a special musician sharing different kinds of drums and instruments, and “Carnival Week” where children will be ending the summer with the annual SFD carnival and a trip to Andy's Bounce Barn.
Fun Days for Kids is for children entering grades 1 through 5. Days are jam packed with play, learning and fun. There is an effective balance of supervised free play with structured, guided activities. To ensure engagement of children into activities, the program has full time activity specialists hired to lead age-appropriate activities in the area of sports, games and character development/team building, arts, crafts and dramatic expression, and theme based/inquiry activities. Your child’s counselors will also lead him/her in various activities throughout the day. Each session will include: two field trip days, two swimming days, two meal days, and one day on-site entertainment. The theme for Session 1 is “Aloha Summer! With 4th of July Festivities!”. Campers will go on trips to the beach and the aquarium. Session 2 is “Totally Talented with a Twist!” and includes our annual talent show. Campers will also get into the groove of the week with wacky and wild physical challenges, dance offs, trivia games and karaoke contests. The theme for Session 3 is “Crazy Carnival and the Wonder of Walt Disney!”. Besides offering trips to Connecticut’s amusement parks, our campers will explore America’s Walt Disney world through a series of activities, music and games. Our culinary campers will enjoy cupcake decorating and Disney dish day all new this year!
Fun Days for Tweens is for children entering grades 6 through 8. This is a theme based summer camp program for older children where middle schoolers can have fun, hang out, play sports and games, and stay safe. Each session will include: two trips per week, one lunch per week, art twice per week, daily sports, games and teambuilding, and daily access to the pool. Session 1 consists of “Extreme Sport Adventure Week” with trips to the Shelton Sports Center and Brownstone Park and “CT Amusement Park Tour Week” with trips to Quassy and Lake Compounce. Session 2 offers “Science Week” with trips to the CT Science Center and the beach or theatres to see a sci-fi movie. During “Spectacular 6 Flags Week” Tweens will visit Six Flags amusement park and spend a day at the beach. Session 3 includes “Take Me To Sea Week” with trips to Mystic Seaport & Aquarium and a cruise to the Thimble Islands in Branford and “New York, New York Week” with NYC destination TBD and a trip to Port Jefferson via the ferry.
