The paperwork and payment [check or credit card] must be received within two weeks of reserving a picnic site or the area will be re-booked. Reservations requiring the approval of the Parks and Recreation Commission (non-residents and those requesting a rule waiver) will be voted on at the Commission’s monthly meeting the first Monday of each month. All others will be approved by the Director of Parks and Recreation no later than two weeks after submission. Once approved the fee is non-refundable unless the group cancels out one month prior to the picnic date. Should a group cancel within a month of their date or their picnic is rained out a credit is issued for another date this year.
The three reservable areas are the “Pond View” area located adjacent to the parks east pool parking lot, the “Concert” area located near the Kids Kreations Playground and the “Oak Grove” area located beyond the Great Hollow Lake’s overflow lot. All other picnic tables at Great Hollow Lake and immediately adjacent to the Kids Kreations Playground are first come, first serve and are not reservable.
Picnic groups are reminded a 2013 Wolfe Park sticker is required from Memorial Day weekend to Labor Day for admission to the Great Hollow Lake area or to park in the paved lot on the east (pool) side of Wolfe Park. Reserved groups should also inquire about aquatic fees, room, and game equipment, plus connections with park caterers/vendors.
Further information on all Wolfe Park facilities can be obtained by calling the Parks and Recreation Department at 452-2806 or visiting the department’s website at MonroeRec.org.
