The Edith Wheeler Memorial Library will host activites for all ages to create a community mural to celebrate Chinese New Year. On Monday, February 6th, Children's Librarian, Libby Mueller, will work with children in Kindergarten to Grade 3 to create a piece of artwork that represents each child's Chinese zodiac animal. Later, ArtSmart’s Kathy Vincent will show teens how to use the Chinese sumi-e ink painting technique and develop a traditional re-usable printer's seal.
On Tuesday, February 7, Kathy will work with children in Grades 4 to 6 to create beautiful Chinese character print banners. Adults can join in the fun on Wednesday, February 8th! Kathy will help you create beautiful colograph prints. Make one print to leave at the library for a community mural and take the template home!
