Monroe Dad Arrested for Accidentally Shooting Son in Face

The pistol that was accidentally fired was not found to have malfunctioned.

A Monroe man turned himself in after being informed of a warrant for his arrest today. 

The warrant was presented as the result of the Monroe Police Department’s investigation into the accidental shooting of a 10-year-old child.

According to police, Vincent Pizzolato, 44 returned home with his wife from target shooting at an area gun range.

The round traveled through a wall into a finished family room and struck his 10-year-old son in the face.

The Ruger 9mm pistol was examined by a Bridgeport Police Department Firearms Examiner and found to be working as designed.

Pizzolato was released on a written promise to appear in court on March 25.
