Amina Ali, a Senior from Masuk High School, was chosen to receive the Daughters of the American Revolution Excellence in History award for outstanding work in American history.
Amina has been recognized for excellence in American History and was awarded a Bronze medal and Certificate by the Sarah Riggs Humphreys-Mary Silliman Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution.
Mary Rozsa, the Chairman of the American History awards, said that young men and women like Amina are our country’s future leaders. The DAR promotes American History throughout the year and encourages everyone to be more aware of their heritage.
The DAR perpetuates the memory and spirit of the men and women who won American independence. Any woman over 18 who can prove an ancestor served in the American Revolution is a prospective member. For more information on the DAR go online at http://www.sarahriggshumphreysDAR.org.
