MONROE WEATHER UPDATE: Forecasters Add Ice, Sleet to Saturday's Snow Forecast

Monroe residents may want to reschedule plans for Saturday as the National Weather Service has issued a Hazardous Weather Outlook. Six inches of snow accumulation is expected as well as ice, sleet and freezing rain. An updated, detailed forecast is below, courtesy of the National Weather Service.

• Tonight - A chance of light snow, mainly after 8pm. Cloudy, with a low around 19. Light north wind. Chance of precipitation is 50%.
• Thursday - A slight chance of light snow before noon. Cloudy, then gradually becoming mostly sunny, with a high near 34. Wind chill values between 20 and 30. Calm wind becoming north around 5 mph in the afternoon. Chance of precipitation is 20%.
• Thursday Night - Mostly clear, with a low around 15. Northwest wind 3 to 6 mph.
• Friday - Sunny, with a high near 34. Wind chill values between 10 and 20. West wind 3 to 8 mph.
• Friday Night - A slight chance of snow after 3am. Increasing clouds, with a low around 22. Southwest wind 3 to 6 mph. Chance of precipitation is 20%.
• Saturday - A chance of snow, freezing rain, and sleet before noon, then rain, snow, and sleet likely between noon and 3pm, then snow and freezing rain likely after 3pm. Cloudy, with a high near 33. Chance of precipitation is 60%. New ice accumulation of 0.1 to 0.3 of an inch possible. New snow and sleet accumulation of 2 to 4 inches possible.
• Saturday Night - A chance of snow before midnight. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 23. Chance of precipitation is 40%.
• Sunday - Mostly sunny, with a high near 32.
• Sunday Night - Mostly cloudy, with a low around 13.
