MONROE WEATHER UPDATE: Forecasters Add Ice, Sleet to Saturday's Snow Forecast
The National Weather Service has updated their previous forecast earlier today to add ice and sleet.

Monroe residents may want to reschedule plans for Saturday as the National Weather Service has issued a Hazardous Weather Outlook. Six inches of snow accumulation is expected as well as ice, sleet and freezing rain. An updated, detailed forecast is below, courtesy of the National Weather Service.
- Tonight - A chance of light snow, mainly after 8pm. Cloudy, with a low around 19. Light north wind. Chance of precipitation is 50%.
- Thursday - A slight chance of light snow before noon. Cloudy, then gradually becoming mostly sunny, with a high near 34. Wind chill values between 20 and 30. Calm wind becoming north around 5 mph in the afternoon. Chance of precipitation is 20%.
- Thursday Night - Mostly clear, with a low around 15. Northwest wind 3 to 6 mph.
- Friday - Sunny, with a high near 34. Wind chill values between 10 and 20. West wind 3 to 8 mph.
- Friday Night - A slight chance of snow after 3am. Increasing clouds, with a low around 22. Southwest wind 3 to 6 mph. Chance of precipitation is 20%.
- Saturday - A chance of snow, freezing rain, and sleet before noon, then rain, snow, and sleet likely between noon and 3pm, then snow and freezing rain likely after 3pm. Cloudy, with a high near 33. Chance of precipitation is 60%. New ice accumulation of 0.1 to 0.3 of an inch possible. New snow and sleet accumulation of 2 to 4 inches possible.
- Saturday Night - A chance of snow before midnight. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 23. Chance of precipitation is 40%.
- Sunday - Mostly sunny, with a high near 32.
- Sunday Night - Mostly cloudy, with a low around 13.
