Town-Wide Art Hunt Rocks Monroe

MONROE, CT — The Monroe Playground Foundation has kicked off its Party-In-The-Park festivities with a town-wide game of hide-and-seek.
Hiding in plain sight throughout Monroe are painted rocks sporting the hashtag #MonroeCTPlay. The objets d'art were created at the Monroe Farmers Market in August, an activity that has already netted $800 towards the $300,000 needed to refurbish the Kids Kreation playground in Wolfe Park.
The non-profit MPF has taken to social media to encourage residents to post selfies of their finds on MPF’s Facebook page, and turn them in at the party where they will become part of the park.

Each rock, whether painted by a child or a local artist, will be incorporated into a mosaic and so become a permanent fixture in Wolfe Park.
Party-in-the-Park is an all day fundraising event at Wolfe Park on Sunday, Sept. 23, with activities that include bounce houses, games, face painting, miniature golf, music and, of course, food trucks. The painted rocks will be accepted from noon to 4 p.m.
