The next session of youth swim lessons offered by Parks and Recreation will begin November 25. Registration deadline for this session is Monday, November 18. Please visit our website at www.monroerec.org to register.
We follow the American Red Cross swim level placement guide. The American Red Cross offers a comprehensive, developmentally appropriate swimming and water safety program that teaches your child how to swim skillfully and safely, and think and act safely in, on and around the water. The prerequisite for each level is the successful demonstration of skills from the preceeding level, except for Level 1, which has no prerequisites. You can download the swim placement level guide from our website.
Our lessons are based on a logical, six level progression that helps swimmers develop their water safety, survival and swimming skills. It is designed to give participants a positive learning experience. Session 3 will be held on November 25, 26, 27, December 2 and 4. Times: 6:00 pm (Levels 1, 2, 3), 6:30 pm (Levels 1,2), 7:00 pm (Levels 3,4,5). Level 1 and 2 classes are 30 minutes; level 3-5 are 60 minutes. Fees: Level 1 and 2 $60 resident/$70 non-resident. Level 3 and higher: $70 resident/$80 non-resident.
