Dime Bank Foundation Awards $64,500 to 28 Local Non-Profits
Dime Bank Foundation has awarded $64,500 to 28 non-profit organizations located in New London County and Westerly/Pawcatuck areas in May 2013 under the direction of its new administrator, Dee Sullivan.
Grant recipients include: Stonington Community Center, Inc. (COMO); Our Piece of the Pie®, Inc. (OPP); FRESH New London; New England Science & Sailing; Primera Iglesia Bautista Hispana/College Access Program (CAP); Waterford Country School; Norwich Housing Authority; Mystic Area Shelter & Hospitality, Inc. (MASH); Mystic River Homes/Mystic River Congregate; Special Olympics Connecticut, Inc.; Eastern Connecticut Workforce Investment Board, Inc.; Connecticut Community Care, Inc. (CCCI); Thames Area Citizen Advocacy Program, Inc.; The Jonnycake Center of Westerly; Adult Day Center of Westerly; Fairview Odd Fellows Home of CT, Inc.; United Cerebral Palsy of Eastern Connecticut; Carenet Pregnancy Resource Center of SE Connecticut; Central Baptist Church Soup Kitchen; Safe Futures, Inc.; Madonna Place; High Hopes Therapeutic Riding, Inc.; Reliance House, Inc.; United Way of Southeastern CT/Gemma Moran Food Center; Catholic Charities/Diocese of Norwich; Southeastern Council on Alcoholism and Drug Dependency; Bethsaida Community, Inc.; and, Operation Fuel.
Dime Bank established the Dime Bank Foundation in 1998; enabling the bank to sup¬port and give back to the communities it serves. The Foundation provides funding for charitable, cultural, literary, scientific and educational non-profit organizations. The Foundation supports 40+ non-profit organizations and awards an average of $155,000 a year in grants. Since its inception, the Foundation has awarded over $1.4 million to organizations in the surrounding community. The Foundation’s focus is on programs and activities that provide, strengthen, or enhance services to members of our communities that are most at-risk.
