May 14 is the first Childhood Apraxia of Speech Awareness Day. Childhood Apraxia of Speech (CAS) is one of the most difficult speech and communication disabilities in children. The brain is unable to tell the jaw, lips, tongue, etc how to move for the proper movements for speech. Extensive speech therapy of many years can help children with CAS attain speech. These children understand speech but just are unable to reply to what is being said to them. Please support these children. More information can be found at Apraxia-KIDS.org.
