Montville Troopers Make Arrest after Court Bomb Threat
A possible bomb threat was called in to Norwich Superior Court on Monday, August 17.

Troopers from Troop E-Montville responded to the Norwich Superior Court, 1 Courthouse Square, Norwich, for a report of a possible bomb threat called in to the court by an unknown male suspect.
Upon arrival at approximately 1 p.m. Monday, August 17, people were evacuated and the scene secured by the following entities:
- Troop E officers
- The State Police Bomb Squad
- State Police K9 teams
- The Norwich Police Department
A search of Norwich Superior Court and its property conducted, with negative results. Based on the investigation, troopers identified a suspect.

Officers responded to 335 Hamilton Ave. Norwich, where they located and spoke with suspect Robert Ladson. He was taken into custody and transported to Troop E, where he was processed and held on bond.
Ladson, 55, of 335 Hamilton Ave., Norwich, was arrested for threatening in the first degree. He is set to appear in Norwich Superior Court Tuesday, August 18.

His bond was set at $50,000.
