Cancer is the general name for a group of more than 100 diseases. Although there are many kinds of cancer, all cancers start because of abnormal cells that grow out of control. Untreated cancers can cause serious illness and even death.
Heart Strings knows the importance of cancer awareness and the need to raise money for support, research and to help others in our community facing the day to day battle of fighting this disease. We wanted to come up with an event specifically to raise money to go to the American Cancer Society and the Jimmy Fund. They serve the cancer community and supports cancer research.
This is an indoor/outdoor event with over 30 shopping and craft vendors, Food By Simply Serena, Chair Massages by Relax, Renew, Revive and Heaven on Wheels, Music By Johnny G From WCTY, Face Painting for the kids by The Drunken Palette, RI Colors For A Cause will be there with their Childhood Cancer Fire Truck, Raffles and so much more.
Admission is FREE. Wristbands with "Cancer Sucks" on them will be sold for $5.00 and each wristband will come with 10 free raffle tickets. Each person coming to the event will receive a FREE Gift Bag filled with information on area hospitals helping patients with cancer, booklets and pamphlets about different types of cancers, help for caregivers and so much more.
100% of the table fees, wristband sales, food and beverage sales and other donations will be split evenly for the American Cancer Society and The Jimmy Fund/Dana Farber.
