Wireless Zone, your locally owned and family operated Verizon Wireless Premium Retailer, is providing more than just exceptional customer service, outstanding technical support and the latest and greatest in wireless technology this summer season! This year, Wireless Zone is providing toys as well!
Participating for the 5th consecutive year, Wireless Zone hosted their annual Toy Drive to benefit the Connecticut Children’s Medical Center. Between 12 stores, Wireless Zone not only collected 300 toys from customers and employees, but fundraised over $2,500 in excess funds to purchase more gifts for the children!
The Wireless Zone stores in Eastern Connecticut enthusiastically promoted the cause to collect toys and raise funds for the children at the Connecticut Children’s Medical Center. Managers and employees alike were dedicated to explaining the hospital’s philosophy to each customer in order to gain maximum exposure and efficiently contribute to the cause.

The Connecticut Children’s Medical Center is a not-for-profit children’s hospital, nationally recognized as the only hospital in Connecticut that is solely dedicated to offering world class care specifically to children. It is also one of the best health care centers in the country for several of its pediatric specialties. This state of the art facility treats children from all over the state.
The medical center is not just committed to providing these ill children with the best care for their physical ailments, but for their emotional health and happiness as well. The hospital’s slogan is ‘Kids are great! We just make ‘em better!’ and through research, education, advocacy and family centered services, they go above and beyond to honor their motto every day.

Wireless Zone wanted to support the Connecticut Children’s Medical Center goal of providing each new patient with a toy. Upon admittance, the every child receives a brand new toy from the staff at the hospital, in order to uplift the child’s spirits and give them a source of comfort during their stay.
Scott Gladstone and Neil Ryan, franchise owners, pledged to match every toy donated as well. Wireless Zone partnered with Education Works, located in the Crystal Mall in Waterford, to purchase generously discounted toys in order to increase the collection. In total, the Wireless Zone family amassed over 300 toys and raised over $2,500 in donations. Thank you to the local Eastern Connecticut community for donating and making this a possibility for the children at the Connecticut Children’s Medical Center. Wireless Zone looks forward to the 6th Annual Toy Drive next summer in 2014!
