3 People Took Child, 8, from Naugatuck to Arizona Without Parent's Permission: Police

BREAKING: The incident occurred back in September of 2016 and police announced three arrests in the case.

NAUGATUCK, CT — Three people were charged for their role in taking an 8-year-girl from Naugatuck to Arizona against the wishes of the adoptive parents, police said.

Police said Erica, 47, Daniel, 47, and Megan, 24, Mizell, all of Arizona turned themselves in this week on an arrest warrant.

On Sept. 18 the three accuseds were involved in a domestic custodial interference case involving an 8-year-old child from Naugatuck, police said, The three individuals took the child to Arizona without permission of the adoptive parent, police said.

All three are charged with custodial interference, risk of injury to a child, and second-degree reckless endangerment.

Back in September, police said that the 8-year-old girl was last seen leaving her home on Sept. 17 with family member, Megan Mizell, 33, to visit another family member in Waterbury, Erica Mizell, 47, police said.

The child was never brought home and police at the time said they believe these same two family members have indicated they were going to take the girl to Arizona where her birth mother resides (and is another family member).
