Velezis also confirmed the restaurant has been open at its current location for nearly four decades.

Located at 30 Bank Street, the restaurant celebrated 30 years of business in downtown Waterbury in 2017 with the Waterbury Regional Chamber.

A relaxed downtown diner, the restaurant serves classic breakfast and lunch food, according to a description on Google.

The diner's hours are listed on Yelp as Monday-Friday from 6 a.m. to 2 p.m. and Saturday from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m.

The Waterbury restaurant is one of several popular eateries in Connecticut to announce its closure this year.

Earlier this year, longtime East Hartford landmark eatery the Triple A Diner permanently closed after nearly 70 years.

In June, popular downtown Hartford restaurant and nightlife venue ONE Bar + Kitchen closed after serving the community for nearly three years.

Last month, a burger restaurant and ice cream stand located at the same address in Naugatuck announced their closure after serving area customers for 13 years.
