Apple Cinemas To Open New Movie Theater At Waterbury Mall Next Week

WATERBURY, CT — Shoppers and diners at the Brass Mill Center mall will soon have even more to do when a new multi-screen movie theater opens later this month.

Apple Cinemas announced plans to open a refurbished 12-screen movie theater at the mall in early March and indicated it could open this month.

The Brass Mill website currently lists April 19 as the grand opening date for the new Apple Cinemas theater, located on the mall's third level.

Theater hours are currently listed as Monday through Wednesday from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m., Thursday from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m., Friday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. and Sunday from noon to 6 p.m.

Requests for comment from both Apple Cinemas and Kohan Retail Investment Group, which owns the Waterbury mall, were not immediately returned Thursday afternoon.

Apple Cinemas is based in Massachusetts and has theater locations in Connecticut, Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, New York and Rhode Island.

The mall's new theater will mark the second Apple Cinemas location in Waterbury. The other location is at 920 Wolcott Street.

Additional Apple Cinemas locations in Connecticut include Torrington, Hartford and Simsbury.

The new theater will also fill a void left by theater chain Regal Cinemas, which closed its Brass Mill theater in September 2022, according to CT Insider.
