PLOT:
A fast paced English farce filled with mistaken identities, innuendo, and of course, doors.
The plot centers on an Anglican priest married to an American actress. She is visited by a fellow actor serving the US Army in WWII England. He disguises himself as a priest so the two of them can spend an innocent evening at the theatre. The fun begins when a nosey church lady comes by at the most inopportune time, an escaped convict also disguised as a priest, comes to the vicarage and is mistaken for an expected visiting bishop. Of course it takes a police sergeant to help straighten the mess out.
Directed by Francis A. Daley, who brought you the hilarious Run For Your Wife last Spring at the playhouse. This play is dedicated to Betsy Sholze, our esteemed treasurer, who will be retiring next year. This wonderful play is her choice and we are thrilled to honor her with our first production of the 2014 season.
