BK Supper Club Brings Hope & Hydration To Waterbury's Homeless

Water… A fundamental necessity for all living things. Unfortunately, some cannot afford to get enough of the most abundant resource on earth

Water…. A fundamental necessity for all living things. Unfortunately, some cannot afford to get enough of the most abundant resource on earth. It is heating up across the country and during the summer months, heat stroke and heat exhaustion are more prevalent amongst the homeless community. According to the National Health Care for the Homeless Council, people who live on the streets or in shelters are at an increased risk for heat- related illness and dehydration.

The consumption of water does more than keeping you hydrated, it also helps regulate body temperature and is crucial to cell, tissue and organ health. In addition, drinking water helps boost your immune system and can help prevent you from getting sick during the cold and flu season. For the homeless community, water is undoubtedly an essential resource for health and wellbeing.

Leading the pack in the mission to hydrate the homeless in Waterbury CT is Kenneth Thompson, owner of the BK Supper Club, 92 Bank Street Waterbury CT. “It’s getting hot out there and we all need water” said Kenneth. “I’m just doing what I can do to insure that those who can’t afford to stay hydrated, Stay hydrated!”
