Building A Caring Community Through Business that Care...United Way of Naugatuck & Beacon Falls Hosts 15th Annual Community Care Day

United Way of Naugatuck & Beacon Falls will host its 15th annual Community Care Day on November 16th. Support our local merchants throughout Naugatuck & Beacon Falls as they will contribute a portion of their sales for that day or make a flat donation to the United Way. The participating businesses will be recognized with United Way balloons at the storefronts.
The event originally began to provide a way for the community’s smaller businesses to participate in the fundraising effort at their own level. With large companies, the United Way can solicit a group of employees through presentations and payroll deductions. This is not possible with smaller merchants. 
United Way of Naugatuck & Beacon Falls provides vital resources to 20 agencies and youth athletic leagues in the community to enable them to provide such programs as emergency services such as disaster relief, emergency shelter and crisis intervention; strengthening families through family counseling and daycare; youth programs such as athletic and scouting programs as well as summer camperships. It is because of the generosity directed to United Way by the local community that these services remain and continue to be provided to our residents.
This year’s committee consists of Allan Monteiro and Maria Rodrigues of Naugatuck Savings Bank and Jeff Bodnar, Sonia Myers and Kathy Wells of Naugatuck Valley Savings & Loan. This committee has been volunteering their time to cultivate last year’s participants along with recruiting new businesses to join in.
