Chris Corbett 5K Set for April 2

Second annual road race honors former Waterbury Deputy Police Chief and raises money for area students

The second annual Chris Corbett 5K will take place Sunday, April 2, 8:30 AM, at Holy Cross High School, 587 Oronoke Road, Waterbury. Proceeds from the race will benefit the Christopher D. Corbett Memorial Fund.

The fund was established to honor the memory of Waterbury Deputy Police Chief Christopher D. Corbett and carry on his support of Waterbury-area Catholic schools and their students. In its first year the fund has awarded scholarships to area elementary and high-school students and to college-bound graduates of local Catholic high schools who plan to pursue studies in criminal justice.

The 2016 inaugural race was a resounding success, and organizers are expecting another big turnout this year. Local businesses, including Faddy’s Donuts, YoCrunch Yogurt, and Frankie’s Hot Dogs, will once again be on site to provide refreshments.
