Civic Action Project: CNA classes in the High School
A Civic Action Project is a policy you would like to change or impact on for your own benefit or for the Community.
My name is jada illa and i am a junior currently at Naugatuck High school. I take a class called Civics which is required to graduate and near the end of the course us students have to do a Civic Action Project as a final exam grade. My partners and i decided to come up with the idea of putting a CNA class in the High school that would be taken as a course and be an elective. Within this course, students will be able to have access to special equipment such as monitors and other health care supplies in order to do hands on stuff. Also while in this course students will do labs and study in books like a normal class, and have tests and quizzes which would also help to show some type of growth and to give the students more of an learning experience. The class would possibly be a half year course and in the end the student will earn their CNA license so the process of becoming an actual nurse or getting a job can be easier right out of high school. We really want this program to possibly be something that will be added into the curriculum because in the future we all would like to be nurses and wanting to explore in that job field isn’t easy. I feel that their should be more career courses in the school to give students an opportunity and also to enhance their learning and to learn all about responsibility. I myself know a lot of friends of mine that are planning to pursue the medical field so i feel this program would become very successful. Plus, not a lot of things are needed for this program, if the students want scrubs parents can be the ones to supply them and they are not really that expensive. So i hope, Naugatuck Community that you can support my Civic Action Project and give your thoughts in the comments below which would be highly appreciated, Thank You. Jada illa
