Det. Paul Markette Defined What A Police Officer Is All About

On July 16th The Naugatuck PD watched as Detective Paul Markette walked out the PD doors as a Naugatuck Police Officer for the final time. Over his career Detective Markette has worked in many capacities including all shifts of Patrol, CTIC Liaison and Detective. Paul was an Officer of the year recipient and served several years as the Naugatuck Police Union President.

For twenty plus years Detective Paul Markette has helped to define what being a police officer is all about- He has always gone out of his way to help others and has always shown compassion and love for both those he worked with and the citizens of the borough he worked for.

When Paul announced his retirement, all that worked with him knew that it was a great move for him – but it would be an incredible loss to the department. Those of the Naugatuck PD who have been lucky enough to work with Paul will surely miss his presence, knowledge and compassion to the department and the job.
