Recipients were granted $1,000 scholarships based on solid academic performance and demonstrating a well-rounded character both in and out of the classroom. To be considered for the scholarship, employees of Dunkin’ Franchisees had to be high school seniors planning to enroll in a full-time undergraduate course of study at an accredited two-year or four-year college, university or vocational-technical school for the entire upcoming academic year. In addition to being residents of the state of Connecticut, candidates were also required to have a minimum cumulative grade point average of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale (or the equivalent).
Dunkin’ franchisees are committed to serving both their communities and their employees. With the cost of college tuition continuing to increase, franchisees are happy to offer this Scholarship Program with the goal to help lessen the burden on local families, as these students move on to the next chapter of their education.

“We understand the importance of higher education and are proud to award this scholarship to a talented and hardworking member of the Dunkin’ family like Ariana,” said Prospect franchisee, Manny Rocha. “We see how hard these kids work for us every day, and it’s an honor to be able to give back to them.”
On Thursday, July 25 scholarship recipients, their families, and local franchisees gathered at Dunkin’ Donuts Park in Hartford to honor the winners in a pre-game, on-field presentation. Afterwards everyone was invited to celebrate by watching the Hartford Yard Goats take on the Akron Rubberducks.
Ariana Sherwood will be attending Salve Regina University this Fall, and the Dunkin’ franchisees of Connecticut wish her the best of luck on her journey.
