The ceremony took place on Monday.

The flagpole had originally been dedicated to Johnson in 1997.
The rusty pole was given a fresh coat of paint with assistance from ladders provided by the Naugatuck Fire Department, the paper reports. People gathered at the rededication ceremony on Monday where a new plaque was also unveiled.
