Free Kids Event! at the Naugatuck YMCA

Naugatuck, CT February 11, 2017– The Naugatuck YMCA will host a kick off celebration event
on Tuesday February 21st 9am-12pm, FREE and open to the public. The program will be open to
children infants to 13 years old. Infants through 5 year old will play at 9am-10:15am and children
6 to 13 years old will play at 10:30-11:45am. Opening ceremonies will begin at 10:15am to
display our new installation and thank all of supporters and sponsors.

Dr Pepper Snapple Group (DPS) and national non-profit KaBOOM! awarded the Naugatuck
YMCA a $13,200 Let’s Play Improvement Grant to use toward the purchase of an Imagination
Playground in a Cart™. This play equipment is an innovative design that encourages creativity,
communication, and collaborative play. With a collection of custom-designed, oversized blue
foam parts, Imagination PlaygroundTM provides a changing array of elements that allow children
to turn their playground into a space to be constantly built and re-built by their imaginations. As
part of Let’s Play, an initiative by DPS, the imagination playground will provide kids and families
with the tools, place and inspiration to make active play a priority.
