Idina Menzel to Perform "Let It Go" at the Oscars
The reason I won't be missing the Oscar telecast.
Idina Menzel has officially been announced to perform Frozen‘s smash hit (and nominated) “Let It Go” at this year’s Oscars. The song went platinum on Feb. 12.
“It’s really happening,” wrote Menzel on Twitter Tuesday morning. “I’m singing on the Oscars! Surreal. Thank u frozen family and Oscar producers for this incredible opportunity.”
To my mind, there is no one better to have this honor. I have been a longtime fan of this talented actress/singer since seeing her in the movie 'Rent,' on 'Glee,' and memorizing her performance on the CD of 'Wicked." There are not many performers for which I would drive myself to Hartford, but I did so (twice) to get tickets for and attend her "Barefoot at the Symphony" concert. It was perfection.
