Local Area NY Marathon Runner Seeking Donation Of 2,500 Shoes

Waterbury resident and NY Marathon runner Carol Castiglia is seeking monetary donations and 2,500 pairs of wearable gently-worn shoes and sneakers for men, women and children in any size by May 6 to support her American Cancer Society New York Marathon Team.

All of the shoes donated will be sent to initiatives in developing countries and monetary donations will go directly to the American Cancer Society pledge amount of $3,200.

Ms. Castiglia will run the 26.2 mile marathon on November 4, 2018, and is also requesting to receive the names of loved ones for whom she will run the marathon in their honor.

Waterbury drop off locations are at Planet Fitness Gym, 855 Lakewood Rd and Synnott Travel, 452 Meriden Rd.
