Man Refuses to Obey Naugatuck Police Officer's Order to Stop, Drives Off: PD
Naugatuck police say the accused at times drove in excess of 85 mph.

NAUGATUCK, CT - Police say a Waterbury man refused to obey a Naugatuck police officer’s order to stop his vehicle and took off at speeds which exceeded 85 mph at times.
Police say on Feb. 22 Nicholas Simpson, 27, of Orange Street in Waterbury, turned himself in on an arrest warrant for a Feb. 13 incident.
Police initiated a motor vehicle investigation on Route 8 North and Simpson allegedly refused to stop and accelerated away from the officer, police said.

Naugatuck police stopped the pursuit, as Simpson’s vehicle reached in excess of 85 mph, police said.
He was later identified as the suspect and is charged with engaging police in a pursuit, reckless driving, and driving to endanger. He was released after posting a $1,500 bond.
