Patti Buchanan placing one of the bricks presented to Naugatuck Garden Club by Ed Carter, Aide to Naugatuck's Mayor. This is in the garden in front of the Town Hall, one of several sites planted and maintained by the Club. Members have been doing this for many years; some other gardens are The Gazebo on the Green, The Welcome Sign Garden and O'Donnell Memorial Garden, both opposite the Senior Center and the Butterfly Garden behind the library."Civic" gardening isn't the only Club activity, there are visits to interesting local gardens, lectures on a wide range of topics and outreach to educate local groups and residents on the joys of gardening. "Civic" gardening is one of several activities of the club which meets the 3rd Thursday of the month in St.Michael's Church Hall. For info. call 203-729-4406
