Naugatuck Man Charged After Shooting Himself In Hand: Police

Christopher Hawksley faces multiple gun charges after authorities found him in possession of two ghost guns, police said.

NAUGATUCK, CT — A Naugatuck man is facing charges after police said he shot himself in the hand before authorities found him in possession of two ghost guns.

According to Naugatuck police, authorities began investigating Christopher Hawksley, 35, on June 26 after he discharged a gun inside his home on Margaret Circle and suffered a gunshot wound to his hand.

During the investigation, authorities said detectives found Hawksley in possession of multiple guns including two that were manufactured illegally without serial numbers — a weapon commonly referred to as a ghost gun. Police said detectives also found another gun inside a car on the property.

Police said Hawksley was taken to Waterbury Hospital for treatment and later released.

According to authorities, Hawksley was arrested and charged with unlawful discharge of a firearm, negligent storage of a firearm, and manufacturing a firearm.
