Naugatuck Woman Battling Brain Tumor Receives Community Support

Community members expressed their support through donations.

A pasta dinner fundraiser for a Naugatuck woman who is battling a brain tumor drew a large crowd, the Republican-American reports.

Debbie Lennon, 57, developed a brain tumor 16 years ago that turned into cancer over the past few years. According to the paper, the event raised thousands of dollars for Lennon’s medical expenses.

Lennon had to retire early from her job as a bank teller as the tumor began affecting her balance and short-term memory, the paper reports. The large crowd and the support Lennon received in the community serves as a testament to the kind of woman she is.

Her son, Michael Lennon told the paper that despite the difficulties he believes his mother is going to pull through this.

A Go Fund Me page has been set up for Lennon for those wishing to donate.
