NVCC President Speaker January 25 As YPOWR's "Influential CEO"

Y.P.O.W.R. – Young Professionals of Waterbury Region – “Influential Business CEO” Speaker Series Event Thursday, January 25

Daisy Cocco De Filippis, Ph.D., president of Naugatuck Community College (NVCC) in Waterbury, will be the second speaker in the Waterbury Regional Chamber’s Y.P.O.W.R. – Young Professionals of Waterbury Region - annual “Influential Business CEO Speaker Series” under the theme of “Community Cornerstones and Driving Change In Higher Education”. Dr. DeFilippis will speak on Thursday, January 25, 8:00 to 9:15 a.m. at the NVCC campus at 750 Chase Parkway in Waterbury. As president of NVCC since 2008, Dr. De Filippis’ hallmark of her service is a shared vision of community, student-centeredness, collaboration and civic engagement. Under her guidance, NVCC student retention has steadily risen with an enrollment increase of about 500 new students, and graduation awards have grown from 521 in the academic year 2007 to 2008 to 1,123 total awards for the year 2016 to 2017. Costs for the CEO series are $15/session for Y.P.O.W.R. members, $20/session for Waterbury Regional Chamber members, and $25/session for potential chamber members.
