In the daytime I stay at my son's house to keep company with his little MaltiePoo, we both feel leaving a dog alone for 10 hours a day is cruel and unnecessary. He keeps scaring up this Garter snake which I suspect is denning under his house. Please, I'd like to tell everyone if you come across a snake that looks like this, do not kill it! Leave it be, it will leave you be and provide a good service as a free exterminator. Although they prefer frogs and small animals they can and will eat mice and rats, especially rat "pups". The babies eat grubs and other damaging insects. So please, please let them be. They truly are one of the GOOD GUYS!
