Phoenix Stage Company to Participate in Give Local With a Special Event

This Tuesday and Wednesday, May 6 & 7, Phoenix Stage Company is participating in GIVE LOCAL. During this event, the PSC will have 24 hours to raise as much money in donations as they can and at the end of the event, the Connecticut Community Foundation and Ion Bank will match a percentage of the amount raised. Their goal is to raise $20,000.00 this year.

As part of the fundraiser, the PSC is hosting a 24 hour Play Festival that  begins at noon on Tuesday, May 6. Volunteers will write, rehearse, rewrite, rehearse, costume and perform two one act plays. The plays will then be included in the One Act Festival during the Thursday evening program on May 15 at 8:00pm.

The members of the PSC family will NOT be staying at the theater for 24 hours … it just means that the will complete the plays in 24 hours. Patrons are invited to drop in to observe the process and donate to the theater through the GIVE LOCAL event.

148 nonprofits will be participating this year, and all donations received during the event will be amplified by over $60,000 in matching funds provided by our sponsors. You can also help your favorite nonprofits win a portion of over $85,000 in cash prizes throughout the 24 hours!

You can help us build the match pool! On Tuesday, May 6, from 6 - 7 PM, the PSC is trying to win a $10,000 national cash prize by being the community foundation that receives the most online donations for its nonprofit participants during that hour. If they win the $10,000 cash prize, they will add $8,000 to the local match pool and award $2,000 to the organization that receives the most donations during that hour. Please help them in their effort to win these funds by giving from 6 - 7 PM on Tuesday, May 6th!
