Kudos to the students at Maple Hill on another successful 'Picnic in the Park.'
The third and fourth grade students at Maple Hill School presented their annual Picnic in the Park Concert on Wednesday evening in front of their school building. Parents and friends brought along chairs to sit in the driveway and grassy circle in its center to listen to the students perform the many pieces they had carefully prepared. Families were encourage to bring a picnic dinner to enjoy on the grounds of the school before the concert and Subway on New Haven Road donated a portion of their sales to Maple Hill.
Third grade general music students sang "I Let Her Go," "Way Down Yonder In the Brickyard," "Fed My Horse," "Trail to Mexico," "Four White Horses," "The Old Carrion Crow," and "I Don't Care if the Rain Comes Down."
Recorder students performed a selection of short pieces that included the iconic "Hot Cross Buns," Au Claire de Lune" and of course, "Shave and a Haircut."
