NAUGATUCK, CT — Police warn residents to be cautious of recent phone calls asking for money from someone claiming to be a Naugatuck police officer.

In a Facebook post, police said the department has received reports of calls soliciting money from residents by a person claiming to be a local police officer.

"These calls are not from the Naugatuck Police Department," police said on Facebook. "If anyone has received these calls please contact the police department and we can further investigate."
