Public Invited to Attend Thrive Dining Tasting at The Watermark
Complementary tasting highlights innovative program for residents living with physical side effects of Alzheimer's
On Thursday, November 17, The Watermark at East Hill will host a complementary tasting of its innovative new Thrive Dining program. The event will be held at 12:30 p.m. at the retirement community, located at 611 East Hill Road in Southbury.
Thrive Dining, a program unique to the national Watermark Retirement Communities company, was created to restore the enjoyment of dining for residents living with Alzheimer’s disease. For many people living with Alzheimer’s, the fine motor skills needed to use a knife or fork often become a challenge; in order to allow residents to continue to enjoy the foods they love, Thrive Dining offers rich, nutritional meals in the form of a bite-sized, utensil-free option.
Those who attend will learn about the foundation of Thrive Dining and how meals are prepared by Watermark chefs. A presentation of meals “before” and “after” their Thrive Dining transformation will be available to view, and multiple entrees prepared by The Watermark at East Hill chefs will be available to taste.
