Real Art Ways will present its monthly social event, Creative Cocktail Hour on Thursday, February 16, from 6-10pm. CCH attracts a mix of ages, backgrounds and walks of life. Everyone is welcome at Creative Cocktail Hour! Held on the third Thursday of every month at Real Art Ways. 56 Arbor Street, Hartford, Connecticut. In February, Creative Cocktail Hour will feature a legendary music duo, three art exhibitions, food truck and drinks, and activities that include:

  • Live music with Elliott Sharp and Eric Mingus: This duo of longtime collaborators have worked together for decades in a dizzying variety of musical situations. Their distinctive duo project Fourth Blood Moon is a mashup of poetics, electronica, blues, opera, improvisation, funk, and the cosmic. They will be performing songs from their latest album on zOaR, Songs From A Rogue State.
  • Music with the one and only DJ Mr. Realistic.
  • Food truck: our friends at East-West Grille (Laotian and Thai food with vegan and vegetarian options).
  • Hands-on collage making and sit-down art making activities, based on Kate Bae and Rashmi Talpade's exhibitions.
  • Visitors will experience three exhibitions in Real Art Ways' galleries:
  • Kate Bae: Experience an immersive exhibition featuring sculptures and paintings.
  • Rashmi Talpade: Fantastic, intricate photo collages, cutting and pasting many images into one.
  • Howard el-Yasin: el-Yasin's work includes an evocative work, made from thousands of banana peels, hanging from our ceiling.

Tickets for Creative Cocktail Hour are $15 general admission (only $10 for Real Art Ways members). If you come on a bicycle and are a member, it's free! Tickets can be purchased online or at the door.
