Sale Closes on Former Naugatuck Train Station, New Use Planned

It was sold to business partners Carlos Santos and Jim Perzhilla.

NAUGATUCK, CT - Business partners Carlos Santos, a local attorney, and Jim Perzhilla, a restaurateur, have completed the purchase of the former Naugatuck train station from the borough for $300,000.

The two plan to open a new restaurant at the 126-year-old Water Street location by late summer, reports the Waterbury Republican-American.

Architect Henry Bacon, best known for designing the Lincoln Memorial in Washington DC, designed the Spanish Colonial Revival-style structure. The new owners do not intend to change the building's historic nature, writes reporter Paul Singley.
