State Troubadour Kristen Graves to Perform at Pete Seeger Festival

Seeger Fest is a five-day tribute to the folksinger Pete Seeger and his wife, Toshi Seeger, opens on Thursday evening with a screening of the 2007 documentary,“Pete Seeger: The Power of Song,” at Pier 46 on the Hudson River. Kitama Cahill-Jackson, Mr. Seeger’s grandson, is the organizer of the event. The beloved folk singer died in January.
Thursday evening’s documentary screening will now be preceded by an hourlong concert. The performers, who Mr. Cahill-Jackson described as “the new generation of folk singers,” include the Chapin Sisters, Kristen Graves and Adira and Alana Amram.
Kristen Graves is currently the Connecticut State Troubadour and met with Mr. Seeger before his death. She is thrilled to be described as one of the "new generation of folk singers." Ms. Graves is married to Bryan Nurnberger. a Naugatuck native who is the founder of the charity Simply Smiles.
