The Shapiro Sisters Will Release Debut Album Sept. 9

These talented singers will release their debut album 'Live Out Loud: Live at 54 Below,' which was recorded over three performances this summer, on Sept. 9.

The Sharpiro Sisters, 11 year old Milly and 14 year old Abigail, have already done some pretty exciting things in their young lives. Milly appeared on Broadway in the title role of Matilda The Musical and her older sister Abigail played Cindy Lou Who in How the Grinch Stole Christmas at Madison Square Garden. The sisters have appeared together at 54 Below in New York City.

The duo also recently hosted the Connecticut High School Musical Theater Awards at the Palace Theater in Waterbury. During the gala awards ceremony, The Shapiro Sisters performed several of the numbers from their 54 Below concerts. Here is an excerpt from my recap of the CHSMTA gala:

Milly & Abigail Shapiro (The Shapiro Sisters) shared the hosting duties for the evening. These two lovely young ladies have a talent well beyond their years and were charming hostesses. They performed throughout the evening. Together they sang "Anything You Can Do" from Annie Get Your Gun (with new lyrics co-written by producer Van Dean and Abigail Shapiro) that was a meeting of Annie and Matilda from the musicals bearing their names. Milly Shapiro performed a "Let It Go" from, well, you know where, that brought down the house. Abigail sang "Another World" from A Little Princess and was just as wonderful.

Now these talented singers will release their debut album Live Out Loud: Live at 54 Below, which was  recorded over three performances this summer, on Sept. 9.

According to press notes, "The title song 'Live Out Loud' [is] from Andrew Lippa's A Little Princess, [and] embodies the sisters’ philosophy of living life out loud and reaching for their dreams. The concerts and upcoming album feature songs from many of the Shapiro Sisters’ favorite musicals and films including Wicked, "Anastasia," "Frozen," Thoroughly Modern Millie, A Little Princess, The Secret Garden and more."

Before the September launch, the young actresses will also return to 54 Below Aug 28 at 7:00 PM for an encore performance to celebrate the release.
