Performance Lab Students present
Urinetown - the Musical
This Weekend! May 23-25
Nancy Marine Studio Theatre
Don't let the title scare you away from this very funny, very sly musical. Director Isabel Carrington is so very proud of the P-Lab students in this production. "The Performance Lab students are just remarkable in this show. I'm truly so in awe of how they've made it a show entirely of their own, on such a professional level." I am looking forward to attending a performance this weekend.
Winner of three Tony Awards, including Best Book and Score, and one of the most uproariously funny musicals in recent years, Urinetown is a hilarious tale of greed, corruption, love and revolution in a time when water is worth its weight in gold.
In a Gotham-like city, a terrible water shortage, caused by a 20-year drought, has led to a government-enforced ban on private toilets. Amid the people, a hero decides he's had enough and plans a revolution to lead them all to freedom!
Praised for reinvigorating the very notion of what a musical could be, Urinetown catapults the "comedic romp" into the new millennium with its outrageous satire, wickedly modern wit and sustained ability to produce gales of unbridled laughter. "For anarchic, first-rate comic relief, get thee to Urinetown." - Time Out Magazine
